We are happy to report the progress we are making in our Building Project to our GlobalGiving family. Our architect, Jessica Céspedes, has finished the plans. Two of our former scholarship students, Architect Kiara Olivas and Construction Engineer Luis Mendoza (in photo with Fundación founder Jean Brugger) looked over the plans carefully, before giving them to a structural engineer who will review them and provide a baseline estimate for the construction.
This estimate should be complete by mid-June, at which point we will be opening the project up for bids from contractors. We already have 4 companies who have expressed interest in the project.
Nicaragua is still suffering economically from the political unrest that occurred in 2018. Because one of the requirements for our builder will be that he or she employ people from San Juan del Sur, this project will not only help the students of Fundación A. Jean Brugger when it is complete, it will also help the people of San Juan del Sur while it is being built.
