Help for the wounded in Ukraine during the war

We are extremely grateful to those who continue to help us financially. Russia continues to kill civilians and destroy our infrastructure, including health and education facilities.

 On July 8, 2024, a tragedy occurred when Russian rockets hit the "OHMATDYT" children's multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment facility in Kyiv. Two hospitals are located on the territory of this facility. There is another important medical institution - the State Institution "Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Children's Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” at a distance of only 30 meters from the place of the missile hit.

In the operating rooms, complex operations were performed on children with congenital heart defects when an explosion occurred 30 meters from the building of the medical facility. In order to save children, doctors were forced to complete operations in inhumane conditions. Also, at the time of the attack, there were 22 children undergoing treatment in the building. All of them were transferred to the bomb shelter after the announcement of the air alert. At that time, there were 11 babies in the intensive care unit who could not be quickly transferred to the bomb shelter due to being connected to life support systems. Fortunately, the lives of the little patients were saved by timely safety measures and completely sandbagged windows.

"That morning, we started 4 operations. The youngest patient is only seven months old... And can you imagine that there is a missile attack that destroys absolutely everything around during the operation. Meanwhile, small children lie on operating tables. During the missile strike, 8 of my colleagues and I who worked in one of the operating rooms fell to the floor. A patient with an open wound on the heart was left on the operating table... Now this child is in an extremely difficult condition, we are doing everything possible to save his life. I hope we can do it. I don't understand how it is possible to destroy the life of a small child who is sinless...", - the director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery

Ukrainian Children’s Cardiac Center, world-famous cardiac surgeon Ilya Yemets, recalls those scary moments.

Due to this tragedy 2 operating rooms, an intensive care unit, and an inpatient department were damaged in the hospital. Such destruction completely limits the institution's ability to provide the necessary medical care to children with cardiovascular diseases.

We, as a Charity Foundation "Your Support," take this institution under our wing to help restore its activities. We are working on restoring damaged departments and operating rooms, providing the hospital with the necessary medical equipment, and purchasing everything necessary according to the hospital's request.

From February 24, 2022, the Charitable Foundation "Your Support" within the project «Help Ukraine! Stop the war» provides assistance to Ukrainian war victims. These include 135 medical institutions in Ukraine, more than 77 orphanages, and over 5,000 internally displaced persons who received temporary accommodation and support in the Shelter in Lviv.

The charitable foundation “Your support” continues to support medical institutions with medicines, equipment and personal care products.

The Kyiv region continues to be a vulnerable region, subject to rocket attacks and prolonged power outages.

Today we would like to share with you the story of a little girl who managed to survive thanks to our support.

This is a story about an 11-month-old girl, Zlata, who was born into a large family. Since the family has many children, the parents did not immediately pay attention to the fact that the girl began to show signs of illness and fever, but the baby's condition was rapidly deteriorating before their eyes.

Little Zlata was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Kyiv Children's Hospital in an ambulance in a very serious condition, her entire body covered with red spots that later began to fester.  

The diagnosis was generalized meningococcal infection, meningococcemia, and acute purulent meningitis, which is extremely life-threatening.

Doctors fought for the child's life around the clock for almost a month and cured the disease, but there were consequences: necrotic changes in the areas of the rash that required surgeon's observation.

We are grateful to the doctors for the professional medical care provided to the girl, and we are sincerely glad that through our joint efforts we can help children living in such vulnerable regions of Ukraine.
