Project Background
Fires in rural Sindh continue to devastate already vulnerable communities. In February 2025, multiple families across Nawabshah and nearby villages lost their homes and belongings due to accidental fires caused by short circuits and open flames. These incidents disproportionately affected women, children, and persons with disabilities.
To respond to this crisis, NDF Pakistan launched an emergency relief and rehabilitation project with the support of GlobalGiving’s online crowdfunding platform and its generous global donor community.
Project Achievements (February–April 2025)
1. Emergency Relief to 02 Affected Families
Distributed food packages (rice, wheat flour, lentils, oil, tea, sugar) covering one month of rations
Provided non-food items: blankets, floor mats, mosquito nets, cooking utensils, and clothes
Delivered clean drinking water containers and hygiene kits to each family
2. Psychological First Aid and Health Support
Arranged psychological first aid and trauma counseling, especially for children and mothers
Health checkups and minor treatments provided through mobile health units
Distributed essential medicines including burn creams, painkillers, and rehydration salts
