Project report No. 8

By Andrej Balanc | Executive Director

Dear friends, dear donors,

We hope you are doing well in these times and that you and your loved ones are in good health.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we had to fully shift to survival mode and unfortunately, we had to pause almost all our activities. Even though ASK strives to cut all administrative and operational costs to minimum during the last few months we have struggled to fundraise just for bare necessities and for the expenses we could not postpone (rent, utility bills, loan we got from ERSTE bank to renovate part of our Education center etc.).

Our entire staff waived their salaries and fees during the pandemic and the focus of the organization in the past 3 months has been building internal capacity, training members in junior positions, networking and team building.

We believe that despite the distress that has befallen the world and affected all of us, both in business and private life, we have emerged from the crisis strengthened and with an even stronger will to change the world and fight inequality.

Immediately after the end of the imposed state of emergency in the Republic of Serbia, we started working with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Although for a short time it seemed that the situation was improving, unfortunately the number of patients in Serbia started to grow again and the situation is getting worse, so it would not be responsible to organize large gatherings or trainings.

However, despite all the misfortunes, past and present situations with the Covid-19 pandemic, ASK successfully applied with 5 projects from domestic donors and one project at the US Embassy, thus ensuring both the organization's survival and helping those in need, to continue to educate young people, to preserve nature, to fight to make the world a better place.

Dear friends, dear donors, in the coming period, your support and help means more to us than ever before and we are sure that you, proud of everything we have done together so far, will continue to support our work.

For all your questions or ideas, we are at your full disposal at any time.

Kind regards,

ASK Team
