Greetings friends and supporters,
It feels like just yesterday that we began posting updates for this project on GlobalGiving. One year has passed since Hurricane Michael struck the coast of Florida with category 5 force winds, and one year since our team put their boots on the ground. The progress our team has made is tremendous - we are so proud of the sense of community they have built, and the hope they have spread to those still facing the long road to recovery ahead. We are grateful that you have stood by us, rooting for our staff and volunteers as they removed water and mold from homes in the earlier days, to now as they hand the keys back to families that can now safely and comfortably live in their homes again.
Our teams have been working hard to finish as many homes as possible as we quickly approach the end of the program (December of this year). Beyond their residential work, our Florida team has had the great privilege to help the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County conduct critical repairs to one of their club sites. The CEO and his team have some truly incredible long-term plans for this location (which serves more than 100 kids every day), and though we are not able to join him next year as this work is implemented we are honored that we have been trusted to conduct repair work that will support their recovery goals.
I look forward to providing a comprehensive update after our program officially closes. It is difficult to find the words to describe the impact that you have helped make possible - we are forever grateful for your support.
Warmly yours,
The All Hands and Hearts Team
