During the past year, Americares has responded to wildfires in Hawaii, war in Israel/Gaza, natural disasters in the Philippines, tornadoes across multiple U.S. states, and a cholera outbreak in Zambia/Tanzania in addition to our ongoing work to address humanitarian crises in Yemen, Syria and Ukraine. Among our many long-term programs, we operate clinics in Connecticut that provide vital treatment for minor injuries and chronic illnesses at no cost to patients and we support initiatives in Liberia to reduce negative health outcomes for mothers and newborns. We are also working in the U.S. to provide useful resources for providers, patients and administrators at community health centers to meet the health challenges from climate change.
In addition, Americares is responding to extreme heat in the United States and the impact of Hurricane Beryl throughout the Caribbean and Texas.
