AIL’s teachers and facilitators are teaching and informing students about pressing environmental concerns. Air and water pollution, sound pollution, climate change, weather and resource depletion are topics covered in this program. AIL wants every person, who is in contact with the organization, to receive information on the subject and to know how they can help by their actions and by passing on information to others.
A recent topic covered was the harmful effects of using coal for heating. In particular, coal is used to heat bathrooms in private homes but also public bathrooms creating a lot of pollution. Water pollution was discussed as many people do not have access to regular supplies of clean drinking water. Children drink contaminated water not understanding the dangers. Water borne disease was discussed and the dangers to the water supply of leaving garbage in open channels.
