Autumn Update from ABCS AND RICE!

By Sharon Terada | Board Member - ABCS and RICE Canada

Greetings from ABCS and Rice!

We wanted to express our continued gratitude to you, our donors!

As you probably know, during the height of the pandemic our classes were closed to our students.  Because of your generosity, we were able to provide them with school supplies, homework assignments and treats.  We also continued to distribute food and personal protective supplies such as masks.

Your donations helped us to provide clean water to more families than ever before. We were also able to distribute much needed  bicycles, bore wells, and assist those in need of hospital stays.  We also helped cover funeral costs within our community as well.

Because of you, our former graduates and current scholarship students are all still hard at work in their prospective universities despite the shutdowns over the past few years.

With your help, our food distribution continues and our 14 daytime classes are running.  Government schools have reopened and with Khmer tutoring our students are catching up. Our kitchen is open for lunch five days a week, and we hope to reinstate breakfast in the coming months. While the farm has closed, our new garden is productive thanks to parent volunteers under the coaching of our very own Ellen Healy A.K.A "Cha Harley."

We could not accomplish all of this without your help.  Our staff, students and families thank you from the bottom of their hearts.!
