This campaign was close to our hearts.
One of the founding members of Guardavanti is a epidimeologist working during the COVID-19 crisis in the hardest hit region in Northern Italy, in the ASST Lodi (Hospitals of Lodi, Codogno, Casalpusterlengo and Sant’Angelo Lodigiano). Upon conversing with her, despite emergencies and health are not our usual domains of action, we decided that Guardavanti had to be involved in helping the hospitals in Lodi.
There was scarcity of protective kits for the healthcare workers and respiratory ventilators for sever cases of infection. Therefore, we created a campaign to collect as many funds as possible in order to cover the needs of both the healthcare workers and patients.
Through collective efforts and support not only from private donors, but also from cooperatives, companies, other organizations and two great groups linked to music (the "Zero Folli for Italy" fans of the famous Italian singer Renato Zero, and the #UnaCanzonePerLodi initiative, by musicians of the Lodi's Province), we managed to collect funds that exceeded by far our expectations. A staggering amount of 50,089 euros was collected and sent to the hospital of Lodi to cover their needs during the COVID-19 crisis. GlobalGiving donors were part of this immense solidarity.
The donations allow the Hospitals to have:
We are immensly moved by the response this call received and are amazed at the humanity of each contribution.
Thanks from the depth of our heart, in name of all the patients, doctors and health professionals.
