The Reconstruye Q program of Waves Ahead has continued to provide food sustainability components in the last six months to LGBT+, elders, and community in proximity to our San Juan Community Center. We have provided more than 180 vouchers to purchase food, 8 individuals with the components necessary to develop a home garden, and have provided 4 related educational sessions (via platforms such as our youtube channel and facebook). These educational sessions have been focused on nutrition, self-care, and home gardening care.
We have been able to impact individuals living in San Juan metro area, and 9 other municipalities. Individuals range between 21 and 80 years of age.
Funds provided through GlobalGiving have supported this program alongside funds received from other entities and individuals across the US and Puerto Rico.
Alongside, our ongoing programs that focus on taking care of the mental health of our constituents.
