From July to December 2024, the Women Engage in their Community (WEC) project advanced women’s leadership in environmental protection, peacebuilding, and community engagement across Prey Lang and surrounding forest areas. Women led forest and river patrols, facilitated local dialogues, and collaborated with community members and authorities to address deforestation and social issues. Quarterly small group meetings created safe spaces for women to share experiences, reflect on achievements, and strengthen peer support. Family reconciliation activities were introduced to help women balance their roles in both family and community. Despite political restrictions and limited external access, women leaders carried out activities independently, showing strong ownership and resilience. Patrol findings were documented and shared through the PLCN website to contribute to broader forest monitoring and advocacy.
