Empowering Rural Women
Progress Report March from 16 to June 15, 2018
During this quarter, emphasis was given on the improvement of production quality and packaging. The goal was to connect with big retail chain market in order to compete with niche products. Therefore consistent efforts were made on product branding, trade mark, sealing, labeling, packaging and marketing of these products. And the end result was good. We secured orders from some of the branded retail stores like Super Bazar, NEEDS retail chain and Modern Bazar etc.
Scorching heat of the summer has been a big challenge for women to get out of their houses and reach workplace regularly on time. However, we were able to organize many sessions to keep them fully motivated and inspired.
By seeing the progress of first women group, other women members from Self-Help Groups [SHGs] are eager to participate for employment opportunities. This model is becoming successful in creating Self-Help Groups [SHGs] of poor women in the village, promoting small savings, linking with banks, providing skill based training on Spice & Cereal processing and engaging them further into production process to generate sustainable livelihood to support their families.
