This project is to build the capacity of women and girls to address the issues of women and girls and empower them economically in the war-affected areas that have witnessed large waves of displacement, such as Sana’a governorate, which has witnessed a high population density, especially since the beginning of the armed conflict.

The illiteracy rate among displaced women and girls is 65%, according to the rapid assessment of the need that it implemented The organization in Sana’a governorate during February 2020.

He attributed this to the inability of these groups to integrate socially in the host areas, which is mainly due to the absence of job opportunities that generate income for them and enable individuals to find an adequate standard of living that enables their members to enroll and continue their education, in addition to Literacy among women and girls causes problems related to living and health life, family planning and the life of the child. In addition to the need of women and girls for some professions and jobs to eliminate poverty and improve their deteriorating living situation, which they suffer under the living conditions experienced by the Yemeni family as a result of conflicts, wars and natural disasters, and in order to These crafts are practiced to rely on themselves for income and to prepare to work in the community and reach the leadership of the community Future work, where Sand Relief and Development intervened to address these issues and problems in two directions.

The project aims to build the capacities of 500 rural women and girls in Sana’a governorate in economic empowerment in the areas of modern sewing, hairdressing art, detergent industry, glass painting, incense and its derivatives, education for adults, literacy and awareness of reproductive health, and preparing a guide for cooking art to address the shortcomings of Yemeni women for useful recipes that help To protect family members from malnutrition and other chronic diseases and to introduce the heart of natural foodstuffs that enhance physical health and are an alternative to expensive foodstuffs such as meat and some high-priced fruits

General Goal:

Enabling displaced women and war survivors to gain life skills in livelihoods for a number. 500 in Sana'a

Activities carried out

- Catching the number of women and girls in modern sewing.

- Catching the number of women and girls in the art of women's hairdressing..

- Appending the number of women and girls in the manufacture of incense and its derivatives.

 -  Attach 50 women and girls to traditional knitting and sewing.

In additionto these activities, there are a number of privileges for these trainees in the field of health and reproductive health care, where a contract was made with the Maternity and Childhood Center and spending on receiving women who were included in the training program and subjecting them to periodic examinationswithin the motherhood and childhood program with their children, especially infants who are exposed to diseases, the most important of which is malnutrition...
