Dear all,
Thank you for your kind donations to this project. As reported earlier, the Psycho-social support and livelihood trainings for the victims of violent extremism in the North East of Nigeria are on-going. However, we have taken some physical distancing measures including no handshakes, conducting meetings outside when possible, wearing face masks, frequent hand washing and the use of sanitizers to keep project participants safe during the psycho-social support sessions, tailoring school, and cattle rearing activities.
With the support of GlobalGiving and your kind donations we were able to give COVID-19 rescue grants to 178 girls and women who are present or previous participants in this project at a COVID-19 Conference that we organized for them. This support ranges from cash awards to support them and their families in this challenging period, to paying rent for their tailoring shops, to paying for medicines and injections for their cattle. The CSDEA also distributed soaps to wash their hands regularly, and face masks to all the 178 girls and women who have so far benefitted from this COVID-19 rescue grants.
We are looking for more funds to sustain this project and support more girls and women. The December 1st 2020 Giving Tuesday Campaign presents another opportunity to raise the much needed funds. You can help by donating and also volunteer to reach out to your friends and family to support this project on December 1st. GlobalGiving will be giving away 1 million dollars and every donation made on that day will be matched proportionally.
Thank you for your support always!
