Midhuna's story is a perfect illustration
of a student’s commitment and perseverance.
Midhuna’s father is a fisherman. Too poor to
own a boat, he relies on others who do. Fishing
is not a stable occupation, and is dependent on
factors like weather. This at times results in days
together when the fishermen are unable to go
to the sea. What this means is that Midhuna’s
family has to manage on income that is both
meagre and unstable. Midhuna’s father wished
to provide for good education for his daughter
who was evidently so bright, but couldn’t afford
to do so with his modest earnings. Fortunately,
Midhuna secured admission to Isha Vidhya on a
sponsorship, and continued her studies till
12th grade!
Because of our committed teachers, learner-centric
teaching methodology, and the conducive, stress-free
atmosphere of the school, Midhuna’s abundant
potential started showing up! She isa diligent,
meticulous student, and her joy knew no bounds
when she scored 499 out of 600 in the Higher Secondary
public examination.
Much to our pride, Midhuna is continuing her
studies at the Pondicherry Immaculate College,
pursuing B. Sc, Mathemamatics. We are grateful
to Isha Vidhya’spartner Asian Paints India Private
Limited, for boosting her morale further with an
award of INR 5,000.
Today, Madhuna is a confident young adult,
looking fotward to a bright future. She is
determined to complete her graduation degree
in flying colors, after which she aspires to do
higher studies. Her sights are set on becoming
a world-renowned mathematician!
Her parents are deeply grateful to Isha Vidhya,
and the sponsorship that has made all this
possible! We thank our donors who have made
the education sponsorships possible!
