Dear Patrons,
Warm Greetings from Isha Vidhya!
We started this project for empowering India Rural Girl Children through Education in 2018, and participated for the first time in Globalgiving’s Girl Fund campaign. We raised around $45,000 in donations during the campaign, which was helpful in providing noon-meal, transportation, and education sponsorships to more than 120 girl students! We thank you very much for your support!
This year too, on behalf of the International Women’s Day on March 8th, Globalgiving will be running a campaign from March 1st through March 15th, and we would like to request your support on two fronts:
1) If you had donated for sponsorship of noon meal, transportation, or education of a girl children in the last year campaign, we request you to renew your sponsorship on March 8th. We will be contacting you over email with the link to donate, time to donate, etc. Please do check your email for details.
2) Every donation made by a unique donor between March 1st and March 15th for this project will count towards your project winning a position in the Globalgiving Girl Fund, with a chance to win around $10,000 for this project, so we ask you to share the message with your circle of friends, colleagues and contacts, so that they can also donate for your project this time. Here are the details:

Story of Pragathi:
Pragathi studies in 7th grade at Coimbatore Isha Vidhya school. Her father Boopathi is a vehicle driver at Pachapalayam village Aavin milk company, and her mother is working at a lab in R.S.Puram area of Coimbatore. Pragathi has to come to school from Pachapalayam village, which is near Perur area of Coimbatore. It takes more than 45 minutes one way to commute to the school and there are no frequent buses. The existing buses are also very crowded. Their parents worried about Pragathi’s safety to go to the school to get good education. After receiving transportation subsidy from one of the donors through Globalgiving, Pragathi’s parents are now happy that Isha Vidhya is providing transport facility for her, and she is reaching the school on time and safely.
We thank you for your continued support for India rural girl children’s education through Isha Vidhya! Together, we will provide a bright future to these girl children through whom we will create a joyful world!
