We, at Sanid Organization for Relief and Development (SORD), draw the attention of our philanthropists to the latest developments regarding the provision of therapeutic assistance to malnourished children and pregnant and lactating women (PLW)in Yemen. The humanitarian crisis in Yemen continues as the armed conflict continues. Poverty rates are rising. An estimated 161,000 people are facing the "most extreme form of hunger". “Children are still suffering horribly,” with 2.2 million suffering from acute malnutrition, including more than half a million children at critical levels. Limited access to vital services continues to exacerbate the situation of the most vulnerable, including women and children. For our part, the standard recoveries were recorded compared to the level of donations we received, as 10 children under five who had suffered from severe acute malnutrition (2 males and 8 females) recovered. The program of this project received 74 children (32 males, 42 females), including 3 children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and 15 children (MAM), and the number of children between the ages of 6-24 months who were received reached 47 children (20 males, 27 female). The program also received 58 pregnant and lactating women, 20 of whom suffer from malnutrition (16 pregnant women, 4 lactating mothers). In addition, SORD has raised community awareness for 58 women about the dangers of malnutrition and how to prevent it, awareness of how to prevent the emerging corona virus, and the importance of adhering to personal hygiene for both the child and the mother. At the end of this briefing, we once again draw your attention to the fact that our efforts to save children who are at risk of dying from lack of food depend in large part on your generous support, which greatly helps to restore life to sick children.
