Radio Meraj continues to increase its listenership and has a steady flow of listener calls, texts and comments on social media. In one month, there were over 300 calls from the audience. Some calls are engagement with the topic being discussed, others report issues in their community and are seeking help, and many are complimentary about the station programming.
Callers say what a difference the station makes in their lives such as this lady from Enjel village who said, "I have been listening to the good programs of Radio Meraj for many years, and my interest has made my family listen to this media as well. The programs of Radio Meraj are very different from other radio stations and Meraj has programs for all ages. I personally learned a lot from this medium such as forgiveness, how to be a successful person, how to be a better parent, news and education about law, poems and hygiene and health. The station is very useful to me in my life"
Meraj Radio educates youth about the realities of life but also seeks to provide them with motivation and hope by featuring positive role models and personalities in the world who are knowledgeable about life in Afghanistan. Meraj media emphasizes gender equality, the right to education, healthy living and leadership and social justice, which is applicable to all ages and genders. The goal is to create a cohesive society where all people are equally valued.
