MHO is one of the few non-governmental organizations implementing the REED Plus project, which promotes afforestation and restoration of degraded areas; sustainable forest development and environmental protection. Your donation will not only enable MHO to plant more trees, but also increase the livelihoods of target households by creating alternative livelihoods, motivating and encouraging participating people to reforest and rehabilitate degraded areas; sustainable forest development and environmental protection practices. Financial donations funded under this project were used forfor planting of trees with Ethiopian Journalist Association, capacity building and awareness raising of forest-dependent indigenous peoples, education and skills training, afforestation and reforestation, and natural resource management. The donation also supports the planting and promotion of tolerant trees and grasses, area closure, terracing, embankments and education, and the promotion of family planning and home economics among women. The donation through this project will not only improve the country's recovery and food production, which will contribute to food security and improve livelihoods in the region, but will also contribute to the long-term mitigation of climate change, as Ethiopia is one of the countries constantly affected by climate change and drought.
