First of all, a huge thank you to all of you that have supported our Counselling Programme for 300 children in Romania. Your support is making a significant difference in the lives of the orphans and disadvanatged children in the area of Gura Humorului, Romania.
The commencing 3 months of our programme was a period of development for our Counselling Programme. We have managed to develop a system of referrals with the orphanage in town - hosting about 140 children in various locations in town; the schools located in the surrounding villages and the schools in town as well.
Thanks to your generous donations, we have managed to acquire the equipment and the Assesment and Testing Software for the programme.
Our project supports key concepts such as promoting equality and diversity, building strategic personal development plans for each child we counsell in pursuit of our goal - assisting orphans and disadvanatged children realise their full potential and become the best version of themselves.
Currently, we are providing counselling for 10 children that we have been referred to and we are hoping to increase that number to 50 by September.
We have also signed a partnership with the local rugby team to provide support - currently 60 % from the children playing rugby come from disadvanatged backgrounds. Our therapist has also completed a Psychology in Sport course to be able to move forward with the partnership. Together with the local sports club - we have already received a number of referrals for disadvantaged children with behavioural issue for the Counselling Programme.
A big thank you to all of our supporters for giving the opportunity to these children to overcome their emotional trauma! As soon as our first chilld graduates the program - we will come back to you with a report!
