Renovations of Child Protection center in Quetta

By Muhammad Imad Ud Din | Project Leader

Project Title: Renovations of Child Protection Center in Quetta
Project Location: Quetta, Pakistan
1. Introduction

The "Renovations of Child Protection Center in Quetta" project aimed to improve the facilities and learning environment in five centers serving vulnerable children. These centers play a vital role in the well-being and development of at-risk children, providing them with a safe space for education, care, and personal growth.

2. Project Goals

The primary objective of this project was to renovate and upgrade the Child Protection Centers to ensure a more comfortable, welcoming, and resourceful environment for the children. Specific upgrades included:

  • Provision of new chairs and tables to facilitate better seating arrangements.
  • Complete repainting of the centers for a fresh, inspiring look.
  • Addition of educational charts and materials to enhance learning.
  • Distribution of new school bags to the children for their academic needs.

3. Activities Undertaken

Throughout the project, the following key activities were successfully completed:

  • Furniture Upgrade: New, sturdy chairs and tables were provided to each center, improving the overall comfort for children during study hours.
  • Center Renovations: All five centers underwent a full repainting, with bright colors chosen to create an inviting and cheerful atmosphere for the children.
  • Educational Materials: Learning aids such as charts were installed to support the children's academic development.
  • Distribution of Bags: New school bags were distributed to each child in the centers, allowing them to carry their books and materials more easily.

4. Impact of the Project

The renovations have greatly improved the environment for both the children and the staff working at the centers. Key benefits observed include:

  • A more organized and comfortable learning space that promotes focus and engagement.
  • Increased motivation among the children due to the refreshing new look of their centers.
  • Better access to educational materials through the newly installed charts and the provision of school bags.
  • Enhanced self-esteem for the children as they now have updated facilities that cater to their needs.

5. Challenges and Lessons Learned

While the project was successful, there were some challenges, including logistical delays in the delivery of furniture and painting supplies. However, these were managed through close coordination with suppliers and project teams. The lesson learned is the importance of ensuring early procurement and contingency planning to prevent delays.

6. Conclusion and Future Plans

This project has significantly enhanced the learning environment for the children at the five Child Protection Centers in Quetta. Moving forward, we aim to continue supporting these centers by providing ongoing maintenance and additional educational resources to further improve the quality of care and education.

We are incredibly grateful to our donors and supporters for making this project possible and look forward to continuing our work to benefit vulnerable children in Quetta.

Thank you for your support!
