By Lynn Malooly | Preparing for 2014 Drilling Season
Dear Friends of WFSS,
Thanks to your support, and the support of donors in all 50 US States and 8 countries, Water for South Sudan finished the 2013 drilling season with 40 new wells.
For our founder, Salva Dut, the excitement of this year’s wells is just as powerful as the first well, drilled in 2005 for his father's village. “The best part of my work is seeing the joy on people’s faces when we successfully dig a well,” he says.
The goal for the 2014 drilling season will once again be 40 wells. Crews have been busy planning for the next season since June. Team members have been going over all drilling equipment, making repairs where needed, and taking care of basic maintenance. Supplies have been purchased in Kampala, Uganda, and are making their way to our compound in Wau. Additional parts and supplies are being readied for shipment to South Sudan. There is never a dull moment!
Thank you for being a part of the WFSS community and helping us transform lives... one well at a time.
