Hello Friends of Water for South Sudan,
It is now the dry season in South Sudan, so WFSS crews have begun drilling.
Two wells have already been drilled, and our two drilling crews are working toward their goal of at least 30 wells this season. The first well funded by Global Giving donors will be drilled this drilling season!
Our president, Salva Dut, and drilling manager, Ater Akol Thiep have been in South Sudan since the fall, overseeing much-needed repairs of our vehicles, including our two drilling rigs, and procuring all of the supplies needed for the entire drilling season.
In addition, work continues on the building of our new compound in Wau and will soon be complete. We will also have a new office there, and have hired an administrator to handle the many details of our drilling operations.
We are excited to be a part of the development of the brand new country of South Sudan. Thank you for all of your contributions, which are helping us bring fresh clean water to the people of South Sudan.
In gratitude,
