Thank you for your interest in and support of AIL’s goal to purchase and publish books for libraries in Herat. The initial donations received for this project have gone towards the publishing of reading books by local authors in Herat. These books are vital for the continuing education of Afghans in Herat, giving them a way to practice the skills they have learned in literacy classes. So far, there has been a great deal of interest in the books, and we are excited to begin to distribute them. In the future, we are hoping to have the funds to add to the libraries in our schools and centers as well as the public library in Herat.
