We have come into a new year and we are more than grateful that you made it too. This year we have planned to hold the annual Autism Awareness 5km run in Eldoret town in the Month of April.
We hold these runs to change the local community stereotypes about autism and educate them on why autism is a blessing and not a curse as they see it. Our run has created awareness and brought in a lot of community volunteers to help with the work that we do. This run makes a difference, raises funds, and brings the community together.
Due to the tough economic times in the last year, we were not able to achieve our targets with the little that we raised. We, however, secured lots of therapy equipment and we are looking forward to getting a place this year through your generous donations to set up a fully functional therapy center in Eldoret, a replica of what we already have now in Mathare slums in Nairobi.
This therapy center will be funded through the run to offer free occupational, speech, play, and physical therapy to kids with disabilities coming from Eldoret town and its neighboring rural constituencies.
May God keep you and bless you throughout the year 2023. We are counting on your continued support and generous contributions.
Kind Regards,
Ruth Tenai
