All Hands and Hearts arrived on the ground in the Caribbean shortly after Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated many islands. Since then, we've run productive recovery programs in St. Thomas, St. John, Tortola, Dominica, and Puerto Rico to provide relief to the thousands still suffering. Currently, our teams are continuing to work in Puerto Rico - completing response and recovery work by rebuilding homes and infrastructure in communities that have not received critical assistance.
Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria both hit the Caribbean islands within a week of each other, causing massive destruction. All Hands has responded to requests for help from many communities still in need of assistance. These communities have been overlooked and are almost completely inaccessible.
All Hands is currently completing response work in St. Thomas, Tortola and St. John as well as small communities like Toa Baja in Puerto Rico. We are completing recovery work like rebuilding homes and schools in Dominica and two communities in Puerto Rico, Barranquitas and Yabucoa.
All Hands has committed to staying for the long term in hard hit areas in the Caribbean. Our priority will be to get families back in their homes and children back in schools so they can get back to some normalcy.
