As the only standing NGO left in Afghanistan, the Afghan Institute of Learning's main priority was to help young girls and women have an eduation that will help them build their future. But we cannot only just focus on the female population and leave behind the male population that has been fighting an endless war, when their only motive is to have peace.
The younger generation of men in Afghanistan barely go to school willingy, aswell as most older men are illiterate and cannot even read the first page of a book. Boys at a very young age either join millitas or work dangerous labor jobs from little to no pay because almost all males except the one percent live in poverty. Families are so poor, that the child becomes the breadwinner, as the father is too old or not present, which puts a huge burden on the male in the family.
AIL seeks to help the younger male generation on getting an education, instead of holding a gun or doing labor work that pays fairly to nothing. With an education the males can recieve a degree and get a steady paying job that will support their families and not worrying about what their next meal is.
